After years of development, our legendary café has returned brighter than ever before, welcoming everyone for coffee, beer and snacks in a relaxed environment. Well-known since the late 1950s for the beer glass-shaped billboard on the roof of the old building. With the return of the Heineken Hoek on Leidseplein, the city center of Amsterdam has regained one of its most beloved iconic cafés.

Comforting and cosy

Our Grand Café is open seven days a week for a bite, lunch, drink or dinner. Our menu is filled with good quality meats and fish and focussed on quality comfort food. We offer a diverse drinks menu that caters to various preferences. Think about cocktails, different draft or bottled beers and good quality wines. Enjoy your meal while watching your favorite soccer game, or go dancing into the wee hours. A DJ regularly comes to the Grand Cafe to play great records until the early hours.

From the Heineken Hoek, you overlook Leidseplein, close to all the bars, clubs and pubs. You are always welcome to walk in at Heineken Hoek, but if you want to make sure not to miss out on a table, give us a call or reserve a table on our website. With the iconic beer glasses on the roof, the Heineken Hoek was the face of Leidseplein for decades, a familiar place for people from inside and outside the city. With its new design, inside and out, it has made a brand-new return. The grand café combines a modern look with an authentic atmosphere that makes this location so popular. On top of that, you are in the heart of Amsterdam’s entertainment district, including the musea and shopping area.
